Consciousness is causal: What we can do
11/23/2009

“Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made, and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.  Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity.  It is an act of justice.  It is the protection of a fundamental right, the right to dignity and a decent life.”                                    -- Nelson Mandela

Consciousness is causal
11/16/2009

In the weeks since I've posted I've driven a thousand miles--from the Methow to Santa Barbara--through gorgeous country bathed in the golden light of fall.  I watched the full moon rise over Lake Shasta--that magic diminished by the fact that Lake Shasta had been reduced to a mere trickle.  Arriving home I spent a week in the chaotic joy of my six-year-old quadruplet niece and nephews.  When they left, I settled gradually back into "my" life in Santa Barbara.  Micheal is still in the Methow.  In this time I've had alone I've recommitted myself to playing my part in evolution.  To seriously consider why I am here and "to be about it."
It's clear that humanity is at a crossroads, poised on the brink of break down or break through.  We must find a new way of being on the earth and with each other.  We all have work to do to let go of the old and bring in the new.  Towards that end, I offer this affirmation, with thanks to Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life, who always begins her affirmations with "In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete."  Evolution is happening; be a part of it!  And so it is.
