No on Proposition 8

I don't intend to turn this into a political blog, so here's my last political entry for awhile (I think). 

I just want to say four things in defense of gays' right to marry. 

1.  What if your child was gay or lesbian?  Wouldn't you want him or her to have the same rights and opportunities for happiness and security as everyone else? 

2.  If marriage is a legal institution, then denying gays the right to marry is denying them equal protection of the laws.  In other words, it's unconstitutional.

3.  If marriage is a religious institution, then it is between the couple and their God.  Our opinions on the matter are irrelevant.  Didn't Jesus himself warn us, "Judge not, lest ye be judged"?

4.  Please join me in voting No on Proposition 8.
