The world is not pre-formed and static
As we believe when we are young,
Inheriting it whole,
Unaware 
That the world waits.
 
It waits.
 
For our tentative song
Our grateful sigh
Our whispered prayer
...Please God, save my child. 
...And my neighbor’s child. 
...And my enemy’s child.
Our resolute determination to move mountains
Or to be not moved.
 
The world needs us
As much as we need the world.
Unaware…
We keep the world spinning
While it waits.
